Nokia unveils Nokia C5 smartphone

Nokia unveiled the Nokia C5 today. Nokia describes the C5 as “a smartphone packed into a feature phone body.” The Nokia C5, part of the new CSeries, also marks the debut of a new naming convention.

The Nokia C5 will be powered by Symbian S60 3rd edition. It will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 2.2-inch QVGA display, up to 50MB of user memory, a 3.2MP camera, a microSD card slot (supporting cards up to 16GB), A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, a micro-USB connector, an FM stereo radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 1,050mAh battery. The Nokia C5 will support Ovi Maps and will boast a new feature where the phone book will display friends’ status updates from Facebook. It will be available in white and warm grey.

The Nokia C5 will be available in Q2 2010 in a number of markets including European and Asian countries. At this point, it does not appear that it will be available in North America. It will sell for €135 before subsidies.
