No Google Nexus One for Verizon

Google Nexus One

Google announced today that the Google Nexus One will not be offered for Verizon as originally announced back when it was unveiled. Instead, Google is now recommending that Verizon customers who were waiting for the Nexus One buy the Droid Incredible by HTC.

In the US, if you’ve been waiting for the Nexus One for Verizon Wireless’ network, head over to http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible to pre-order the Droid Incredible by HTC, a powerful new Android phone and a cousin of the Nexus One that is similarly feature-packed. It will be available in stores on April 29th.

On a more positive note, the Google Nexus One is now available for pre-order from Vodafone in the United Kingdom with sales (including in stores) expected to begin on April 30th. Interestingly, it does not appear that it will be available directly from Google. It will also shortly be available in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain through Vodafone (except France where SFR which is partly owned by Vodafone will offer it).
