A number of new leaks have fleshed out the Verizon roadmap for the rest of 2010 and into 2011 that surfaced back in early August.
Among the new devices proposed are the:
- Samsung SCH-i400 Continuum with 1GHz processor in October or early November
- Motorola Venus, a QWERTY candybar form factor, Android 2.2, 1GHz processor, and both CDMA and GSM/HSPA radios, in October
- Motorola DROID Pro, a possible update to the DROID 2 with 1.3Ghz processor, Android 2.2, global radios and Flash 10, in late October or early November
- HTC Merge (AKA Lexikon) with 1GHz processor and global radios in late October or early November
- LG enV Pro with 1GHz processor, Android, and global radios in November
- Motorola Stingray tablet in Q1 2011
Specifications of the Motorola Stingray were fleshed out a bit more. Look for a Tegra 2 platform, Android 3.0, 10-inch display, and 16GB of onboard storage, and a front-facing camera. it will also be “hardware upgradeable to LTE” although there are no details as to how this will work.
On the BlackBerry front, it appears that Verizon has decided to pass on the upcoming BlackBerry 9570. The current BlackBerry Bold 9650, Curve 3G, and Tour are scheduled to receive updates to fix “known issues.”
Also on tap are the FiveSpot mobile hotspot in October, three USB LTE modems in November and an LTE Mi-Fi in late 2010 or early 2011.
There may not be any Windows Phone 7 devices on tap but it still looks like Verizon customers will have plenty of choice (as long as they like Android).
