Native Google Voice apps have begun to return to the iTunes App Store. Among the first are GV Mobile and GV Connect (Note: Both links will launch iTunes). Such third party apps ran afoul of Apple’s App Store policies and Apple’s contention that they competed too closely with features offered by Apple on the iPhone over a year ago. The recent loosening of Apple’s policies appear to have paved the way for their return.
Google’s own application could also soon appear on the App Store. It was never approved (nor was it rejected according to Apple). Instead, Google ended up offering a web-based version earlier this year.
