MWC 2010: GSMA announces Global Mobile Awards winners

The GSMA announced the winners of the 15th annual Global Mobile Awards at the 2010 Mobile World Congress. Winners in a total of 19 categories were revealed during the awards presentation.

“A remarkable 500 entries from across the global mobile ecosystem were submitted this year, all of an extremely high calibre, and the winners should be incredibly proud of their achievements,” said Rob Conway, CEO and Member of the Board, GSMA. “The demand for new ways to use mobile technology continues to evolve and accelerate at a breathtaking speed, and it is genuinely inspiring to see such inventive thinking and exciting ideas showcased at Mobile World Congress.”

Among the winners were:

  • Best Mobile Handset or Device: HTC Hero
  • Best Mobile Connected Device (non-handsets): Novatel Wireless Inc. – MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot
  • Best Mobile Game: Iricom – The Last City – Fight For Your Life!
  • Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service: Research In Motion – BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5.0
  • Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough: Orange – Mobile High Definition (HD) Voice
  • Mobile Industry Personality of the Year as Voted for by the Media: Steve Jobs, Co-Founder and CEO Apple
