Mozilla announced yesterday that it had released a new beta version of Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo. Still not feature complete, Beta 3 adds new features and fixes issues found in previous beta version.
Among the improvements in this latest release are:
- an improved user interface
- improved add-on discovery
- the ability to save websites as PDFs
- fixes for some keyboard issues
- support for complex scripts such as Arabic and Persian
- Firefox icon notifications in the Android system bar
- support for “copy and paste” in the URL bar
- simplified Firefox Sync setup process
Mozilla hints that future versions will focus on performance, responsiveness and usability and that there is more to come in the areas of graphics, JavaScript, and add-ons among others.
Firefox 4 Beta 3 for Android is available in the Android Marketplace (previous Firefox betas should be uninstalled first). The Maemo version is available directly from Mozilla.
