Mozilla Firefox appears to be headed to Google Android. According to a German Mozilla Community site camp-firefox.de, Mozilla could release a beta version of Firefox Mobile (Fennec) as early as February 2010. Mozilla apparently began work on an Android version back in December.
Development has progressed to the point where the application has been successfully started on an Android phone. But browsing is not possible yet. This suggests that a fair amount of work remains and that a February beta release may be overly optimistic.
Mozilla has also released Firefox for Maemo RC3 today with a number of bug fixes and performance improvements. Unfortunately, it also comes with disabled plugins, including Adobe Flash which apparently degraded performance too much.
Firefox for Windows Mobile remains at the Beta 3 version.
