Earlier this week, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Motoroi in Korea. It will be available through SK Telecom starting in February for about 900,000 won (US$800) before subsidies.
As part of the announcement, Bae Joon-dong, senior vice president of SK Telecom, also revealed that the Motoroi would be available in the U.S. as early as March although there is no word on which carrier would offer it. Rick Wolochatiuk, president of Motorola Korea, also confirmed that the Motoroi would be offered in other countries but did not provide details.
The Motorola Motoroi bears an uncanny resemblance to the Motorola Sholes tablet / XT701. Full specifications were not revealed but a number of details were provided. Powered by Google Android 2.0, it will come with a 3.7-inch FWVGA (854 by 480) display, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (supporting cards up to 32GB) an 8MP camera with Xenon flash, a TV tuner (T-DMB) and an HDMI port. It will not have a physical keyboard.
It’s not clear whether the U.S. version will go under the name Motoroi or another.
