On the heels of the news that Stephen Elop will succeed Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo as Nokia’s President and CEO comes word that Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and a member of Nokia Group Executive Board, is resigning. He gave six months notice and will continue in his present role for now.
“I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life,” Anssi Vanjoki says. “At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. I am also really looking forward to this year’s Nokia World and sharing news about exciting new devices and solutions.”
Past rumours had suggested that Vankoji was expecting to succeed Kallasvuo. Or is this a not-so-subtle non-confidence vote for the incoming Elop?
It could be a very interesting Nokia World event this week…
