Microsoft is reorganizing its Entertainment and Devices division after an announcement that both Robbie Bach, the division’s president and J. Allard, its chief technology officer, are leaving the company. While Bach is leaving the company entirely, Allard will remain on as a consultant.
Neither will be replaced. Instead, Don Mattrick and Andy Lees will continue to lead the Interactive Entertainment Business and Mobile Communications Business groups respectively. Both will now report directly to Steve Ballmer.
Bach and Allard played key roles in the development of the Xbox, Zune, Project Natal, and now defunct Courier project.
