Rumours that Microsoft would unveil Windows Phone 7, its completely revamped mobile operating system on October 11th have been floating about since early September. They appear to have been accurate given that Microsoft has now begun to send out invitations to a media event on that day. The three and a half hour event will take place in London and will start at 1400 GMT (0900 EST).
Among the manufacturers expected to unveil Windows Phone 7 devices are Dell, Asus, LG, HTC, and Samsung. At least some of these should be in attendance. Devices are expected to be available in Europe on October 21st and on November 8th in North America.
