The Microsoft KIN ONE and KIN TWO are now available from Verizon Wireless. “Designed specifically for people who are actively navigating their social lives, KIN blends the phone, online services and the PC.”
The KIN One is the more compact device with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard designed for one-handed texting. It comes with a touchscreen 320 by 240 display, 4GB of internal memory, a 5MP camera with flash, a mono speaker. The KIN Two is a more traditional QWERTY slider with a touchscreen 480 by 320 display, 8GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera with flash, and stereo speakers. Both run on Nvidia’s Tegra platform and have 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Both also feature a Zune-like interface with a home screen called The Loop where aggregated features updates and news is presented.
The Microsoft KIN smartphones are now available online from Verizon. They will also be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores starting on May 13th. The KIN ONE is available for US$49.99 and the KIN TWO for US$99.99 (both after a US$100 mail-in rebate) with a two-year contract (minimum US$29.99 voice and data per month).
