Microsoft confirms Windows Phone 7 launch partners

Microsoft Windows Phone

Probably more important than exactly when Microsoft will launch Windows Mobile 7 is the question of when we will see devices running the OS. While we still don’t know specific timelines, Microsoft has confirmed to Pocket-lint.com that we can expect to see devices from Dell (the rumoured Dell Lightning?), Asus, LG, HTC, and Samsung later this year.

From these manufacturers, we can expect to see devices with QWERTY keyboards as well as without. One device mentioned was the LG Pacific but no details were given about it.

Microsoft also confirmed that it will not adopt a strategy giving any one carrier exclusivity. Instead, it will push to get it into as many people’s hands as possible as it sets out to reestablish the credibility of its mobile operating system.
