This week’s The Engadget Show had quite the surprise when Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman showed off a pre-production prototype of an upcoming LG Windows Phone 7 Series device.
The unnamed device is a QWERTY slider. It has a 5MP camera with flash, a headphone jack, and dedicated hardware camera, volume, and power buttons as well as the Back, Home, and Search buttons required by Windows Phone 7 Series. From the demonstration, it appears to be about as thick as the Google Nexus One or Apple iPhone (despite having a physical keyboard).
The revelation follows reports that LG could launch its first Windows Phone 7 Series in September. This follows LG statements at MWC that it would have such devices out later this year.
