Jobs promises “A+ iPhone update”

Apple

After unveiling the Apple iPad this week, Jobs held a townhall meeting with employees. A fair amount of attention was focused on Google, its new rival in the smartphone business, and Adobe whose Flash software is not supported on the iPad (as well as the iPhone).

It’s clear that Apple sees Google Android and its rapidly growing market share as a threat. He vowed that Apple would not let Google kill the iPhone. Apparently, Jobs went as far as calling Google’s mantra of “Don’t be evil” nothing more than “bullshit”.

He was no kinder to Adobe. Calling the company “lazy”, he predicted that HTML5 would soon replace Flash entirely.

As for the iPhone, Jobs promised more frequent updates and went as far as indicating that Google would not be able to keep up. He also indicated that the next iPhone would be an “A+ update.”

Typical Apple posturing or does Apple really have something that will once again widen the gap between it and its competitors?
