A case of fraud appeared to seal i-mate’s fate last September. But it appears that the company could be set for a revival. A company called iMate is listed as one of the exhibitors at the ShowStoppers press event that will take place the night before the 2010 Mobile World Congress. It’s not clear whether the two are even the same company at this point.
The i-mate web site is back up and running but only features the i-mate 810-F rugged smartphone that the company had announced before running into trouble.
We’ll know soon enough if i-mate has relaunched as iMate and what the future holds for the company.
