It appears that HTC is yet another manufacturer working on a tablet device. HTC South Africa MD Quinton Leigh made the revelation in an interview with PhoneReport.com.
Few details were revealed but Leigh indicated that the tablet would be powered by Google Android and possibly come with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Cryptically, he added that it might be an actual tablet. It’s not clear if this means a MID-sized device or a completely different form factor.
Leigh also revealed that HTC plans to offer 1080p video recording and 5.1 surround sound on upcoming mobile phones. This could happen as early as Q2 2011. We could also see HTC devices supporting HSPA+ (with speeds up to 14.4Mbps) as early as Q3 2010.
