In an interview with Forbes, HTC Chief Executive Peter Chou described the Google Nexus One as a success despite lackluster sales (estimated at 150,000 in the first three months). Chou argued that the Nexus One was successful in showing “how good Android can be. In that regard, I think it has been an achievement.”
Chou did not provide specific sales numbers but described sales as “doing pretty well” considering that it is available only from Google and that there was no standard marketing campaign to drive demand.
Chou also described himself as “thrilled” about the upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series and confirmed that HTC plans to offer a Windows Phone 7 device before the end of the year.
