HP webOS tablet scheduled for Q1 2011

Hewlett-Packard

While HP has yet to say much publicly about its upcoming webOS tablet (codename Hurricane), it has apparently told its employees that it will launch in Q1 2011. The revelation was made by Personal Systems Group VP Todd Bradley during an employee meeting.

Little is known about the Hurricane but recent rumours suggested it would come with a capacitive touchscreen that will support digital pen input.

It also appears that the Hurricane will hit the street as the PalmPad (which HP is looking to trademark).

The timing is quite a bit further out than early rumours had suggested. Is HP planning to unveil the Hurricane as CES 2011? It also looks like HP will go ahead with a tablet strategy that covers webOS, Microsoft Windows (Enterprise-geared HP Slate 500), and Google Android devices (HP eStation Zeen).
