HP has provided a number of partners with pre-production webOS tablets, according to a report from CRN. One partner, Denali Advanced Integration, has been testing them and customer feedback has been “exceeding our expectations.”
HP is looking to release its webOS slates (likely under the PalmPad name) in early 2011. It is also expected to unveil a Windows 7-powered tablet before the end of the year.
With an expected glut of Android-powered tablets expected in 2011, HP will likely to use webOS as a key differentiator against its competitors. It could also allow it to offer a consistent user interface with new webOS smartphones (also coming in early 2011), printers, and other devices.
