HP has submitted a trademark filing to the USPTO for the name ‘Palmpad’. According to the filing, it will apply to “computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer peripherals, portable computers, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, mobile digital electronic devices.”
Combine that with the rumours of HP’s webOS tablet (codenamed Hurricane) and you get a sense of where HP is going now that it has put Windows 7 and Android tablets behind it.
There is still no word on when HP could release this device although it could be as early as the end of this year.
