While a flurry of new tablet devices is expected by the end of the year, it appears that at least one much-anticipated device may not be out until 2011. All Things Digital is reporting that HP’s Android tablet has been delayed and will not ship this year as the company had initially hoped.
No reasons were given for the delay. Perhaps HP’s resources were spread too thin, considering that the company was developing tablets powered by Windows, Android and more recently webOS (with its Palm acquisition). HP may have decided to focus all its attention on its webOS tablet (Hurricane) rumoured for an October launch.
Should HP release a webOS tablet first, it may also decide to completely abandon its Android efforts should the device meet with success…
