Google has begun to push out the first firmware update for the Google Nexus S. The maintenance release fixes a number of issues. Google has not posted a changelog for Android 2.3.1 (Build GRH78) but it includes fixes for browser lag and bug fixes for Google Maps. It also includes changes to the kernel but it’s not clear at this point exactly what was changed there.
While it may not be a major update, it is nice to see the speed at which Google is moving to address issues with its latest device (it only went on sale last week). If only we could see similar speeds with other devices…
