What a difference a couple of weeks can make. As far back as two weeks ago, Google Android 1.5 was still the most commonly used version of Google Android. But the latest Google data shows that a changing of the guard has taken place with Android 2.1 now taking the lead. Here are the results for May 4th to May 17th:
Android Platform | Percent of Devices |
Android 1.1 | 0.1% |
Android 1.5 | 34.1% |
Android 1.6 | 28.0% |
Android 2.0 | 0.2% |
Android 2.0.1 | 0.4% |
Android 2.1 | 37.2% |
While the trend is favouring consolidation towards Android 2.1, Android 2.2’s imminent arrival will likely disrupt that.
