Gizmodo has the iPhone 4G in hand

The saga of the lost/stolen Apple iPhone 4G took another interesting turn today. It turns out that Gizmodo got their hands on the device and have provided some additional details:

  • Front-facing camera for video chats
  • Improved back-facing camera with larger lens and flash
  • Micro-SIM instead of the standard SIM
  • Secondary mic presumably for noise cancellation
  • Improved display (slightly smaller than that of the 3GS) although 960 by 480 resolution is unconfirmed
  • Split buttons for volume control
  • Metallic sides, top and bottom but glass, plastic or ceramic back
  • Larger battery

All in all, Gizmodo seems pretty impressed with this device, describing the feel as “freaking amazing.”

I wonder if Gizmodo has gotten a call from Apple’s legal army yet…
