Mozilla today released the next major version of Fennec and it is available for both the Nokia N900 and, for the first time, Android devices.
This first Alpha release of Fennec for Android is an exciting first step in bringing browser choice and customization, along with a seamless Web experience across devices, to a leading open mobile platform. Now, developers have the power to use the latest Web technologies like HTML5, CSS and JavaScript to to build fast, powerful and beautiful mobile apps and add-ons that can reach many millions of devices.
This Fennec alpha release comes with Firefox Sync, the Awesome Bar, and support for Add-ons. It also focuses on increasing performance and responsiveness to user actions.
There is no word when the final version will be released.
Note: This is an alpha release so proceed with caution and expect to find bugs and things that don’t work quite right.
