The Motorola DROID X will receive an update to Android 2.2 “by early September” according to a posting on the Motorola support forums. It appears that Motorola is holding up the update to include a fix for an issue with using Exchange 2003 email.
So much for the rumours that had promised the Android 2.2 in early August.
In the meantime, Motorola is providing Droid X owners Touchdown licenses (supplies permitting) to get Exchange 2003 email and notifications working in the meantime. Check ou the ‘Read more about this story’ link for additional information if you’re experiencing this issue.
