Dell today officially announced its Dell streak tablet.
“The Dell Streak hits the sweet spot between traditional smartphones and larger-screen tablets,” said Ron Garriques, president, Dell Communication Solutions Group. “Its unique size provides people new ways to enjoy, connect, and navigate their lives.”
Dell Streak specifications:
- Processor: 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- Operating system: Google Android 1.6 with Dell UI enhancements
- Connectivity: GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA
- Other connectivity: GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- Display: 5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen
- Storage: 2GB internal storage, microSD (up to 32GB)
- Camera: 5MP with auto-focus and dual-LED flash / VGA front-facing camera
Dell will offer OTA updates for the Streak, including not only platform upgrades but also Android 2.2 sometime later this year.
Unfortunately, North America will have to wait a bit longer to see it. Dell will first release it in the UK through O2. A US release is planned for “later this summer.” There are no details about a Canadian launch but presumably it would come at the same time or after the US launch.
