Spring Design is the latest company to unveil an ebook reader. It also announced a partnership with Borders that will give its new reader top billing with the U.S. bookseller’s new Kobo-based ebook store. Like the Barnes & Noble nook, it comes with dual displays.

The Alex is powered by a 624MHz processor and Google Android. It comes with a 6-inch greyscale electronic paper display and a 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen navigation display, 256MB RAM and 2GB flash memory, 3G (both EV-DO/CDMA and GSM) connectivity, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, a microSD card slot, a 2.5mm headphone jack, and a 1530mAh battery.

Spring Design expects that the Alex will sell for USS$359 and will be available as of February 22nd.
