CES 2010: Microsoft to unveil Courier tablet at CES?

The New York Times is reporting that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will unveil its Courier tablet at CES 2010. The device, with its journal-inspired interface, was first revealed back last September. Ballmer is expected to touts the tablet’s e-book reading and multi-touch capabilities.

Microsoft’s hardware partner for the new tablet is rumoured to be Hewlett-Packard. It would be available around the middle of the year.

The announcement could be a move by Microsoft to preempt Apple’s upcoming late January event where it is expected to unveil its own tablet device.
