The New York Times is reporting that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will unveil its Courier tablet at CES 2010. The device, with its journal-inspired interface, was first revealed back last September. Ballmer is expected to touts the tablet’s e-book reading and multi-touch capabilities.
Microsoft’s hardware partner for the new tablet is rumoured to be Hewlett-Packard. It would be available around the middle of the year.
The announcement could be a move by Microsoft to preempt Apple’s upcoming late January event where it is expected to unveil its own tablet device.
