Canadian government documents for Globalive decision remain confidential

Public Mobile

The Canadian government is refusing to release the documentation about its decision to overturn the CRTC’s ruling that WIND Mobile did not meet Canadian ownership rules. The request for the documents came as part of a request for judicial review by Public Mobile.

After requesting that the Privy Council Office file the decision’s documentation, the Privy Council responded that “all documents submitted to the Governor in Council are confidential documents of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and therefore cannot be disclosed.”

Public Mobile is expected to launch its wireless network in the first half of 2010.
