The BlackBerry Bold 9800 has been spotted a number of times now. Some of the leaked pictures showed it carrying the Bold name (on the back of the device like other BlackBerry Bolds). According to CrackBerry.com, RIM may still change the name of its slider though. Instead, it could end up being called the BlackBerry Torch 9800.
Given that the 9800 features a new form factor and will likely be the first BlackBerry 6-powered device, RIM could go with a new brand to distinguish it from the Bold family of devices. On the other hand, it just did away with the Tour brand to simplify the device families (although its form factor was not that different from that of the Bold).
RIM already owns the BlackBerryTorch.com domain (registered back in April), lending further credence to the rumour.
