A leaked Bell Mobility internal document indicates that the carrier will halt sales of the recently launched HTC Legend as soon as current stocks run out. The document cites “ongoing supply constraints from the manufacturer” for the decision to declare it ‘End of life’. With the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant, Bell does have a solid alternative for its customers.
No explanation is given as to what triggered the shortages but AMOLED display shortages have already forced HTC to consider other display types for other devices such as the HTC Desire. Could the Legend be another victim?
It’s likely that Virgin Mobile, Bell’s flanker brand, will follow suit and also stop offering the HTC Legend.
