And with expansion of fast and free Wi-Fi access beyond Barnes & Noble stores to thousands of AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots, we’re bringing additional freedom and flexibility to all NOOK 3G and NOOK Wi-Fi customers.”

Barnes & Noble also announced a nook software upgrade. NOOK v1.4 adds complimentary access to all AT&T Wi-Fi hot spots across the US.

The nook Wi-Fi (US$149) is now available for order and shipments are expected to begin later this week. The nook 3G (US$199) is also available, both online and at Barnes & Noble stores.
