Apple’s traditional iPod September event looks set to take place again this year. According to its sources, All Things D reports that this year’s event will take place in mid-September, only a bit later than usual. There is no specific date yet though.
Rumours suggest that this year’s event will focus on the iPod touch. It is expected to receive a high-resolution Retina display, both front and rear-facing cameras, support for Apple’s FaceTime Wi-Fi video calling software, and possibly an A4 processor. Apple could also announce a new iPod shuffle with a small 1.7-inch touchscreen display, a new iPod nano, a revamped Apple TV and a new music streaming service (based on its acquisition of Lala). There is also the possibility that Apple will announce a new smaller iPad with a 7-inch display.
Held since 2005, last year’s event took place on September 9th
