While I enjoyed a couple of almost completely computer-free days, Engadget landed pictures of what could be the upcoming Apple iPhone 4G (or iPhone HD?). The story gets more interesting when you realize that someone apparently found the device on the floor of a San Jose bar.
The new pictures indicate that the the next iPhone could come with a front-facing camera, a glass back, 80GB of storage (odd for SSDs whose capacities come in multiple of two’s), and a new operating system (which worked for a while but no longer boots).
The photos triggered quite the debate with some suggesting that the device found was in fact a Chinese iPhone knock-off. Others, such as Daring Fireball, suggested that it is a pre-production model with an unfinished exterior shell. Engadget also responded with further proof, including an older and very blurry picture of this iPhone next to an iPad, that this was in fact the next iPhone.
I definitely missed an interesting debate.
