Verizon apparently attended a technology show at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA). And they brought along none other than the still-unannounced DROID 2 with them. A visitor recognized it and managed to spend a bit of time with it and shared his impressions with Gizmodo.
According to the source, the Droid 2 form factor is quite similar to that of the original DROID but with fewer hard edges. It is also about the same size but with a redesigned keyboard faster camera (still 5MP), a 1GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory, and an improved version of MOTOBLUR running on Android 2.1. It appears though that the DROID 2 could launch with a stock version of Android 2.2 (ie, no MOTOBLUR). All of this pretty much confirms earlier rumours.
Hopefully all will be revealed and confirmed at Motorola and Verizon’s press event next week.
