Google is expected to announce Android 2.2 (codename Froyo) today as part of Google I/O. While we wait for the announcement, some details have emerged about has emerged about the next version of Android. Known as Gingerbread (version number still unknown), it looks set for a release towards the end of the year:
When will other Google products support WebM and VP8?
WebM support in Android is expected in the Gingerbread release (currently planned for Q4, 2010).
Google unveiled WebM, a media file format, and VP8, an audio codec, yesterday. Both will be open-source.
