While Microsoft set some fairly rigorous hardware requirements for Windows Phone 7, Dell managed to come up with a rather unique design (at least in the current WP7 world). At this point, the Dell Venue Pro (codenamed Lightning when we first saw it) is only the device to come with a portrait keyboard slider.
We see the Venue Pro for everyday people with a diverse range of full and busy lives. They need to stay connected, be productive and keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family. Dell designed the Venue Pro to be a multi-purpose always-connected device to help people be more efficient, always connected and entertained.
Dell has yet to provide full Venue Pro specifications but here is what we know so far:
- Processor: 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
- Operating system: Windows Phone 7
- Other connectivity: GPS
- Display: 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
- Input: Full portrait QWERTY keyboard
- Memory: 512MB RAM / 1GB ROM
- Storage: 8GB onboard
- Camera: 5MP with autofocus
- Other: Gorilla Glass for durability and scratch resistance, FM radio
T-Mobile and Dell have yet to announce pricing and availability details.
