Are you curious to see what Windows Mobile 7 could look like? If so, head on over to WMPoweruser.com where they have a couple of screenshots of what could be Windows Mobile 7. These were provided by an anonymous tipster so it’s hard to gauge their legitimacy.
One screenshot shows the new home page with an application ribbon near the top. The icons feature badges like those seen on the iPhone to give user feedback such as a waiting message. The Start Menu has also disappeared and instead, the bottom features battery and volume meters.
It looks promising but if these are accurate and reflective of where Microsoft is going, I will admit that I was hoping for a bit more.
Windows Mobile 7 will not be released until 2010. In the meantime, Microsoft will release Windows Mobile 6.5 later this year.
