Details have leaked that indicate that Motorola and Verizon are getting ready to launch a Google Android smartphone called the Sholes. The device appears to be the second promised Android smartphone (the Morrison being the first) that Motorola has in the pipeline for 2009. It would also be Verizon’s first Android smartphone.
In terms of specifications, the Motorola Sholes will be powered by Google Android 1.5. It will come with both CDMA and EVDO Rev A. connectivity (a first for Android), a 3.7-inch touchscreen display (480 by 854), a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with d-pad to the right, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, GPS, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a microSD card slot (supporting cards up to 16GB), a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 5MP camera with auto-focus, and a 1400mAh battery. It will measure 60.00 by 115.80 by 13.70 millimeters and weigh 169 grams.
