The rumours have been confirmed: The Motorola Milestone is headed to TELUS.
“With Motorola Milestone, Canadians will no longer be limited in what they can do with their smartphone,” said Rick Gadd, vice-president, Motorola Canada Mobile Devices. “They will experience the web the way they’ve always wanted on a mobile device, with lightning fast speeds and pages that show them more.”
The Motorola Milestone is powered by a 550MHz TI processor and Google Android 2.0. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band WCDMA/HSPA connectivity, a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display (480 by 854 pixels), a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with d-pad to the right, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, GPS/A-GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a 3.5mm audio jack, a 5MP camera with auto-focus and dual-LED, a microSDHC card slot (supporting cards up to 32GB), and a 1,400mAh battery. It comes with the pinch-and-zoom feature missing on the Verizon DROID but there is no mention of Google Navigation.
The Motorola Milestone will be available in Canada only from TELUS in early 2010. Pricing information has not been released yet.
