We knew that this was coming. TechCrunch announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against Fusion Garage over the JooJoo web tablet (formerly known as the CrunchPad). Filed in California, the suit’s causes of action include Fraud and Deceit, Misappropriation of Business Ideas, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, and more.
Michael Arrington goes on to detail some of the reasons for the lawsuit in more details and refute claims made by Fusion Garage founder Chandrasekhar Rathakrishnan. He also makes a number of allegations (IP theft, shady financing, and others) about Fusion Garage, raising questions as to why he would stay in business with them if these are in fact true.
The suit filed by TechCrunch is also seeking an injunction that will prevent Fusion Garage from selling the JooJoo until the case is settled.
It will be interesting to see where this story goes over the next few months.
