Sprint announced the Samsung Instinct HD, the successor to the original Instinct, today.
“When Instinct was announced last summer it received tremendous praise from our customers and showcased the power of application integration and a world class user-interface,” said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president of product development for Sprint. “Instinct HD adds to that legacy with the addition of a host of video services that are unmatched in the industry.”
The Samsung Instinct HD will come with CDMA/EVDO Rev. A connectivity, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 5MP camera and camcorder, a TV-out HD connection, an ambient light sensor, and an accelerometer. On the software side, you’ll find a virtual QWERTY keyboard with haptic feedback, the Opera Mobile 9.7 browser, and support for Sprint TV.
The Samsung Instinct HD will be available on September 27th at Best Buy Mobile. Availability will extend to all all Sprint company-owned retail channels, including www.sprint.com, on October 11th. It will sell for US$249.99 after a US$100 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract.
