Earlier this month, Dell finally made it official: China Mobile would be the first carrier to offer the new Dell Mini 3i. Now, additional details about the smartphone have been revealed.
Specifications line up with those rumoured some time ago. The Dell Mini 3i is powered by China Mobile’s OPhone open source platform (based on Google Android). It will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display (640 by 360 pixels), GPS, Bluetooth, a 3MP auto-focus camera with flash, and a microSD card slot. It will measure 58 by 122 by 11.7 millimeters and weigh just under 105 grams.
It will be available from China Mobile by the end of the month in Red Passion and Oiled Bronze.
The Dell Mini 3i is also expected to be available in Brazil through Claro before the end of the year and in the U.S. in early 2010. The Claro version of the Mini 3i will come with 3G connectivity unlike the China Mobile version.
