Spb Software House has released a major update to Spb Weather, its weather application for Windows Mobile touch-screen phones. Spb Weather 2.0 builds on the success of the previous versions, bracing its original strong point and introducing new features
New features in Spb Weather 2.0 include:
- A 3D globe with animated forecasts which include global sky conditions, temperature, and precipitation for up to 10 selected cities. Each location also features the local time, nighttime overshadow, zoom in and out capabilities.
- A new finger friendly interface (based on the Spb Mobile Shell interface engine) with support for gestures, adaptive skins, smooth animations and very fast response time.
- A weather service powered by Foreca (also used by MSN.com) and supporting forecasts from the U.S. National Weather Service and Gismeteo. Users can also create and use custom weather source templates.
- Current weather conditions retrieved from METAR and sourced from Weather.gov.
