In an interview with GigaOM about location-based services, Ted Morgan, Skyhook founder and CEO, may have inadvertently confirmed something that many were hoping for:
For instance, the X2 edition of Sony Xperia phone (Windows Mobile-based) uses geolocation data from Google.
There have been a few rumours (and even a rumoured sighting) of the X2 but this appears to the first credible reference a successor to the XPERIA X1. Aside from it being a Windows Mobile device with built-in GPS, there are no additional details.
It’s hard to get excited about nothing more than a device name and hopefully we will learn more soon.
