Sony Ericsson unveiled its latest flagship and first Google Android smartphone earlier today. The XPERIA X10 will be part of a new family of phones headed our way in the first half of 2010.

The UX platform builds on top of the Open OS and creates a unique Sony Ericsson user experience by combining best-in-class entertainment features with signature applications, unrivalled integration of social media services and a rich graphical user interface. The XPERIA X10 is the first mobile phone to truly humanise the way people interact with their phones.

The XPERIA X10 will be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor and Google Android 1.6 with customized interface. It will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (800/1900/2100MHz or 900/1700/2100MHz depending on market) UMTS/HSPA connectivity, a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 1GB of phone memory, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an 8.1MP camera with auto-focus and flash, and a microSD card slot. It measures 119 by 63 by 13 millimeters (4.7 by 2.5 by 0.5-inches) and weighs 135 grams (4.8 ounces). It will come in Sensuous Black and Luster White.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will be available in selected markets in the first quarter of 2010. There is no word on when we will see it in Canada.
