Skyfire Labs has released its final version of Skyfire 1.0, its mobile Internet browser that promises the same experience as on your PC.
Skyfire is the only mobile browser to support popular web standards and plug-ins such as Flash 10, Silverlight 2, Ajax, Javascript and more, so the rich media on websites work on phones just like the PC.
Skyfire 1.0 comes with enhanced navigation, improved performance, power optimization and new search functionality. Skyfire works by having servers between its browser and the site that you want to visit. It’s those servers that handle most of the heavy lifting by processing the web pages viewed and streaming the content to the mobile phone browser. Its SmartFit feature reformats pages so that the text is only as wide as the screen of your device when you zoom into a section of the site.
Skyfire is available for free for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices and Nokia N and E Series (Symbian S60, 3rd Edition) phones. It is available in the U.S., Canada and the UK.
