Samsung announced that it will launch its own mobile application store in Europe on September 14th. The creatively named Application Store will first open in the UK, France and Italy with an additional 30 countries to follow later.
The Application Store will launch with more than 300 applications and will grow to over 2,000 by the end of the year. Categories will include games, reference, social networking, and e-books. Providers will include Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Handmark, TAITO, and Capcom, among others.
Initially, it will only be available to the Omnia and I8910HD with the addition of a mobile client application. Support for the upcoming Omnia II (I8000) and OmniaLITE (B7300) will follow later.
